My New Wheels

Well, I did it.  I got myself a pick up truck!  It's a 94 Chevy K1500.  Its got some rust on it but it seems to run okay.  I mostly need it to get to work during the winter time so it's not my "primary" vehicle but I've been driving it just about every where ever since I got it.  I figure I should get comfortable with it before the weather turns.  It's been fun.  It's got really loud pipes which makes me feel extra redneckish.

The barrel garden is starting to turn out some tomatoes.  They aren't huge by any means but I've been getting about 7 per day from it.  Hopefully I should be able to get a few jars of sauce put up for the winter.  I sampled my first jar of pickles.  They were excellent.  I felt like the sugar flavor was a little strong but no one else seemed to notice it. 

I bought the ducks some minnows a few days ago.  I dumped them into their little pool and they ducks had a grand time going fishing.  The minnows lasted 4-5 days in the pool.  That surprised me. 

I found a kitten in the garage last night.  It looks like Sabbath had a kitten.  There was only one and he looks to be about 2 weeks old.  Not sure what we're going to do with it.  I'm undecided if I want it to stay or go.  We've already got 6 and the 4 outside cats hardly ever come around since we've gotten the boxer.  Ultimately, it will be Parker's decision. 

Not a whole lot of excitement going on right now just trying to milk the last days of summer for all they are worth.
